Share Without Cords...

Something I've been using a ton is an app called "Bump."  Using and iDevice (iphone, ipad, ipod) as well as Androids, you can transfer photos to any other device that has the app.  You can also share contacts, web addresses and your social network pages.  The current version for iphone works for ipad, in case you want to download it (for free!).  It's incredibly simple to use.  Here's a quick video on photo use.  

Now, if you class has smartphones or tablets with the app, they could instantly get your  class blog or web page with your school email info by sending it thru bump with a simple tap of your ipad...which would make you look really cool that first day of school.  But that's not all you can do now with Bump.  

My number one use of Bump is transferring photos from either my ipad or iphone to my computer.  Or any computer, as long as it has an internet connection (no bluetooth required).  I hate having to sync with a cord, and I hate paying for transfer apps, too.  I was really happy when I found this feature.  Here's what you do: 

• Open Bump on your ipad or iphone and select the images you want to transfer, the same as you would if you transferred between iphones.

• To connect to Bump to your desktop, you only have to go to: https://bu.mp/ (No software download!) Tap the spacebar of your computer with your ipad/iphone to activate the transfer (it's motion activated). 

• Once you bump, you will see the image show up in a browser window.  You can drag them to the desktop or hit the "download" button. 

That's it!  Bump also has another app I've got which I use on my iphone.  If anyone at your table at a restaurant forget to bring cash or bring tip money, you can pick up the check without having to wait for them to fork up the cash some other day.  They can just "bump" the money from their paypal to yours.  "Bump Pay," is not for class use, but still handy...
