Air Display; using the iPad as an second display for computer
I use a second monitor at home with my laptop, and when I'm away for more than a weekend or so I find that not having that second monitor is annoying. Air Display is a nifty app for your iPad that allows you to use it as a second monitor for your computer. There's a small "server" app that you install on the computer, and when you launch the iPad app the two connect. It's quite slick and especially helpful when copying and pasting from a text document to a D2L text box (I use it a lot for setting up discussion questions). Rather than scrolling through the screens, I can have the two windows open side by side, and the vertical orientation of the iPad shows the entire text document page, making it easy to copy from one to the other.
